:Signs:

Rating: Don't Bother

Usually when you see Mel Gibson’s name on the cast list it is safe to assume that it is at least a decent movie. I had heard from several friends that Signs was a “great movie”. While at the video store, a culmination of the recommendations I had heard and the lack of any other movie I was interested it lead me to rent it.

I cannot say whether I was actually entertained or just anxious for something to actually happen in this movie. Come on, aliens have mastered interplanetary travel cannot get through a wood door?! If water were the weakness of these aliens, why would they land on a planet that is mostly water?

I kept waiting for a scientific explanation for the events rather than an alien invasion movie. The aliens were so fast in the beginning, but they were slow enough to beat with a baseball bat in the end? There were just to many unbelievable aspects of this movie to let me enjoy it. I honestly enjoyed picking out all of the improbable parts of the movie more than the plot itself.
