Rating: Surprisingly Worth Watching
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. My preconceived notions about it were far off from what it actually turned out to be. At first I was just waiting for Jim Carey to crack a one-liner or make a stupid face, but once you get past his comical stereotype he makes a believable character.
This was one of the movies that I got sucked into watching late one night on HBO and I am glad that I gave it a chance. Had I looked through the TV guide, I would probably have skipped over it. To be honest, Jim Carey’s girlfriend in the movie, played by Laurie Holden, did not hurt to keep my attention during the crucial minutes when my hand was still holding the remote. Although it is a little sickening how perfectly it turns out, it was very entertaining throughout.
