:Ocean's 11:

Rating: Worth Watching

I finally got around to watching “Ocean’s 11”. I admit it was not very high on my priority list to watch, but nothing else was on and I pay to have HBO whether I watch movies or not so I sat down to watch.

My biggest complaint with this movie (as with most movies) is the number of coincidence that needed to be perfect in order for their plan to work. The movie did a pretty decent job of showing how they prepared for the heist, but they relied on too many coincidental things to make their plan even worth trying. One little glitch in any one of their multifaceted plan and everything would have collapsed.

I was just starting to get a little disenfranchised with how unforeseen events just happened to work out perfectly when the trick to their plan was revealed. When done properly, trick endings are generally crowd pleasers. Had it not been for a good ending I would not have liked it nearly as much. I knew virtually nothing about this movie before watching it except the notable cast and I think that helped because I had no preconceived notions or expectations.

Ocean’s 11 does not rank anywhere near the top of my favorite movies list, but it was worth watching and even renting if you do not have HBO.
